Poulter's victory was one of two last week for Titleist golf ball loyalists, as fellow Pro V1x loyalist Steven Bowditch captured the Australasian Tour's Cellarbrations NSW PGA Championship while playing the new Pro V1x prototype golf ball. It marked the second trip to the winner's circle this year for both players.

Poulter, also a winner at the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship in February, closed with a 3-under 67, in which he made his only two bogeys of the tournament.

To be sure, it was better than it sounds.

"I think today, I actually played better to shoot 3-under than I did (to shoot 10-under in Round 2). I don't think I've hit as many good golf shots as today in a long time," said Poulter, whose second-round 60 featured 10 birdies and no bogeys.

Poulter's defining shot Sunday came at the at the par-5 13th, where he faded his fairway-wood approach to 12 feet to set up what turned out to be the game-winning eagle.

"...It was nice. I felt calm all day," said Poulter, who finished at 22-under 258. "I felt as if I just kept going around my business, I'd make a few birdie putts and that would be enough to win. It's very pleasing to do so."

Last month, Manassero won the Castello Masters to become the youngest winner ever on the the European Tour. He started Sunday's final round six shots behind Poulter, and shot 5-under 31 on the back nine to close in 8-under 62 for a 21-under 259 total and tie for second.

"Fantastic day actually for me. I started the day quite far behind," said Manassero, who nearly holed an approach at the par-4 17th. "I made some great shots, so I'm very happy actually the way I played and the way I tried to catch the leaders."

Four of the top six finishers relied upon Titleist golf balls for their success, including Pro V1x loyalist Anthony Kang (fourth) and Titleist Brand Ambassador Rory McIlroy (sixth). In total, 89 players in the field trusted Titleist golf balls, more than four times the nearest competitor with 20.
